Fansite Tips
I thought I would put together a fansite tip guide with some tips and tricks I have learned since I first started this site. I get a lot of questions from new fansite owners
asking how to go about creating your own fansite. This guide is a work in progress and I will add more to it as I come up with some ideas for it.
Here are some basic ideas and tips for anyone interested in creating their own fansite.

Step one, what is the purpose of your fansite?
I think the first step someone wanting to start a new fansite should think about is deciding what type of fansite you want to start and coming up with
an original and unique concept that will set your site apart from the thousands of other fansites for the sims out there.
Step two, Naming your fansite
Naming your fansite is very important, your sites name is it's idenity and coming up with an original and catchy name that simmers will remember is important. I suggest picking something that incoperates both the subject
of your site, yet also fits you, as a site owner's personality. The name should be short, yet catchy and original. Do a search on google when you come up with a name for it to make sure that ther are no other fansites already
out there that have the same name or something similar, you don't want your fansite to be confused with ones already in existence.
Step Three, Hosting, Domains, and Getting your site up and running
Domains
After you have decided on your commitment level for your fansite, next you need to find a way to get your site up on the internet. I suggest getting a real domain if you can afford it, they are not very expensive and will be crucial to your sites success in the long run., .com, .net , .org

Hosting
There are many free hosting options for your fansite if you do not have the money or commitment to purchase hosting. It is probably best if it is your first fansite to start out on a free hosted site till you are sure of the commitment level you want to put into your site.
